🥘Ingredient Notes
For exact amounts needed see the recipe card below

Tortillas: You can use either corn or flour tortillas. Corn tortillas give you that classic Doritos texture, while flour tortillas offer a slightly softer crunch.
Ranch seasoning: Use store-bought ranch seasoning or make your own. It’s a pantry staple in my house, perfect for adding flavor to all sorts of dishes.
Smoked paprika
Garlic powder
Granulated sugar
Onion powder
Salt

🥣How to Make Homemade Doritos
First, mix all your seasonings—ranch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, granulated sugar, onion powder, and salt—in a bowl.
Cut your tortillas into 6-8 equal pieces. Using a pizza cutter works best for this. It’s quick and gives you nice, uniform triangles.
Lightly spray the tortilla pieces with cooking spray and sprinkle them with the seasoning mix. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
Place the tortilla pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overlapping them to ensure they cook evenly. Cook for 3 minutes at 350°F, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes. They should be golden and crispy.
Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them dry on a wire rack or paper towel so they stay crispy.

🍴Serving Ideas
Now that your batch of crispy, flavorful air fryer Doritos is ready, let’s discuss some fun and creative ways to serve them. Obviously, they are great for dipping!

Dip them in ranch dip, boom boom sauce, salsa, or your favorite dip. Make a hearty appetizer by serving them with smoked Buffalo chicken dip! They are an excellent snack for movie night or a fun lunchbox treat as an alternative to store-bought snacks.

I also like to use these Doritos for a loaded nacho platter. Layer them with melted cheese, jalapeños, black beans, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream. It’s perfect for a casual family dinner.

💭How to Store
If you have leftovers, store your Doritos in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh and crispy for up to 5 days.

Keep your chips away from moisture to prevent them from becoming soggy. If your Doritos start to lose their crunch, you can easily re-crisp them. Just pop them back in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes at 350°F.

⭐Tips

Preheating your air fryer makes a big difference. I usually preheat mine for about 3 minutes at 350 degrees F before adding the tortilla pieces.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. The chips need space to crisp up properly. If you have a lot of tortilla pieces, cook them in batches.
A light cooking oil spray helps the seasoning stick to the chips and gives them a nice, even coating. I prefer olive oil spray, but any neutral cooking spray will work.
Let the chips cool completely before storing them so they stay crispy.
Experiment with different seasonings, like Cajun spices, cayenne pepper, or grated parmesan.
